At The University of Oklahoma, we are very fortunate to have a considerable amount of opportunities to travel abroad for education. Many students have had the opportunity to travel to Arezzo; it is probably becoming a more common "favorite place". I love Arezzo because of the beautiful architecture, amazing food, but most importantly, because I was able to dive head first into a culture completely foreign to me.
Traveling abroad truly changed my life and I will always cherish the memories and perspectives that I gained.

I need to make an Arezzo club in this class, Bentleigh: I've lost track now of how many people have mentioned Italy in general and Arezzo in particular in their posts. I am a fan too (I studied in Siena back in grad school). And now is the time to travel, when you don't have so many commitments tying you down. I wish we could all travel to India for this class... but traveling on the magic flying carpet of stories will have to suffice. I hope you will enjoy the class! :-)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Arezzo! I spent last semester there staying with a host family and it was the best decision I have ever made! The food is just so good that it made it hard to come back to America! I didn't know the language either, which made life interesting, but the Italians are just so friendly that you can get by pretty easy.
ReplyDeleteSince you went to Italy without knowing the language, would you take a minute to fill out this survey: https://ousurvey.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_9Y0BbGkejsahkbP
It's for my capstone project and I would really appreciate it! Also, if you could share it with anyone else you know who studied there, that would be great!
My roommate went to Arrezo last semester! ^with Michaela, actually. I really need to find the time and money to travel abroad, I've never left the country before! I think it'll be a wonderful experience to have, hopefully someday soon! I think Italy is definitely on my list!
